Optimus Nexus Me is a custom rom based off CyanogenMod7 and currently developed by <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4794403" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Yash98</a> at xda-developers forums. From the looks of it, the point of this rom is to give users the Nexus 4 feel and look, judging by how it is themed on the screenshots. It is a very light in size rom and has all of the bloatware removed, even most Google apps, but you are left with Play Store and Google Search.

Installation:</h2>
<ol>
<li>Download the two zip files to your sdcard</li>
<li>Power off your phone, boot into CWM Recovery</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage, make sure everything is mounted</li>
<li>Go back, choose to install zip from sdcard and choose the Percy_G2_CyanogenMod2_2.zip file</li>
<li>After it is done installing, go back, go to "advanced" and choose "Reboot recovery" option</li>
<li>Your phone will reboot into the new Recovery mode from the kernel you flashed</li>
<li>Head again into mounts and storage and format /system, /data and /cache</li>
<li>After formatting them, mount them all</li>
<li>Go back, and now select to install zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Choose the rom zip file, choose Yes to confirm</li>
<li>After installation is complete, choose "reboot system now" </li>

Have you ever wanted to use air gestures similar to the ones that the flagship phone - Galaxy S4 does? Well your dream has partially come true as xda-developers member <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2945040" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">forgin</a> has developed this neat app that simulates the S4 air gestures. The best part about this is that it's free and it requires Android 2.2 and above. 
 
The app uses the proximity sensor that the Galaxy Y has on the front, so now you won't only use the proximity sensor for shutting off the screen while making calls, but for a lot more things. Please note that the video you will watch below does not show all of the features the app offers, explore the rest by your own.

Installing the app is pretty simple. Download either the APK from the xda-developers forum attachment or purchase the app from the Play Store. Then after you install the app, it will give you a screen where you need to enable it as a device administrator, so don't worry, just enable it and you are done.

Here is a very neat performance pack made by <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5122018">Jeeko</a> from xda-developers forums. It contains a HUGE amount of improvements for the Galaxy Y and other devices. According to <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5122018">Jeeko

</a>, this is not one of those usual init.d scripts. So what will this improve on your phone you ask? A lot of things. They are just too many to count, but luckaly the developer has made a very accurate list. 
 
It has been tested on the Galaxy Y and it definitely seems to have improven the performance for the CPU, Memory, I/O, 2D and 3D graphics scores on benchmark apps. Here it increased the total score in a Quadrant benchmark test from 832 to 931.

Ultimate Alfa Rom 4.2 is a custom rom developed by <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4951515">AlfaTeam</a> at the xda-developers forums. 
It consists of lots of graphical changes aswell as core changes. A very glowy and interesting look.

Hello everyone, today we're gonna take a look at the AOSP Gingerbread 2.3.7 ROM (yes, not 2.3.6) developed by SpaceCaker at xda-developers forums. For those of you who are not aware, AOSP means Android Open Source Project, which means that this rom is a pure Gingerbread rom and does not include a single Samsung or carrier bloatware app. You should have already noticed that judging by the low size of the rom zip file.

1% Battery Mod for Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360

<a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4896462" target="_blank">rajit</a> recently posted this mod which consists of modifications to pretty much all of the system apps such as the framework, systemui, settings, etc. I personally haven't tested this yet but from the looks of it, this also installs an app to your phone from which you can at any time easily change the look of the battery. 
 
Obviously this is strictly for deodexed roms only as claimed in the xda thread, so be sure to have a deodexed rom aswell as a backup just incase something goes wrong if you're planning on installing this to your system. 
 
It appears that you can "swipe to clear" and change the icon at anytime by just pressing 3 or 4 times on the battery icon to "see the magic".
