» » Cyanogenmod11 for Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 released!


Hey guys! Today I will show you all how to install cyanogenmod 11 on Galaxy Y.


So for all those who are not familiar with cyanogenmod based roms cyanogenmod is an open source operating system for smartphones . It is developed as free and open source based on the official android released by google.


Requirements:-

  1. A Galaxy Y with stock rom
  2. CWM Recovery download it from here
  3. Kernel to be downloaded from here
  4. And finally Cyanogenmod 11 from here

Installation Instructions:-
  1. Power off your galaxy Y and wait till it vibrates.
  2. After it vibrates boot it in the recovery mode by pressing the three button combination (volume up + home + power button)
  3. Then go to apply update from sd card and then choose CWM Recovery.zip
  4. Now to select install zip from sd card>choose zip from sd card>kernel Bangprovn#1.zip
  5. Wait till the installation completes and then go to advanced and then select reboot recovery.
  6. Now it would boot in CWM Recovery v6.0.49 and would show a number of errors. No need to worry
  7. Go to mounts and storage and format system, data and cache
  8. Now mount all partitions (system, data, cache, storage/sd card and sd-ext)
  9. Press the back button and select install zip>choose zip from storage/sd card
  10. Choose cm-11-20140719-unofficial-totoro.zip
  11. Wait till the installation completes and then select reboot system.
  12. The first boot will take time to complete
  13. Finally you have Kitkat Android 4.4.4 on your Galaxy Y.
   Most of the bugs in this rom have been fixed except some lags, video recorder and panorama mode

    cuz the 1st goes CWM then 2nd the kernel and 3rd cyanogenmod

    New builds of cyanogenmod 11 later then 23/7/2014 needs new clockworkmod recovery (6.0.5.3) . If you are have instalation aborted, you must flash te stock rom, root device and and have older built of cm 11 then 23/7/2014 .

    Correct instructions. Requirements:
    1.Stock rom with latest firmware and stock kernel
    2. Root
    Instalation process: First you need download these files :
    1. Clockwork mod 6.0.5.3 totoro.tar.md5: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bj3a19sdm5yre/totoro
    2. latest build cyanogenmod 11 : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/totoro/
    3. Odin 3 : http://odin3.en.lo4d.com/
    4. Put these files on sd-card
    5. Turn off phone and go to download mode by holding POWER+HOME+VOLUME DOWN
    6. In download mode you get volume up to continue
    7. You are in download mode wit sign downloading...
    8. Put clockwork mod recovery totoro.tar.md5 to AP
    9. Make sure you have TICKED FIRST RESET TIME AND AUTO REBOOT
    10. Make sure you have NOT TICKED RE-PARTITION
    11. Press start to do process
    12. If the process success, your phone will boot to cwm recovery 6.0.5.3
    13. In cwm you go down by volume minus and up with volume plus and enter with home
    14. Wipe data/factory reset...select yes
    15. Wipe cache partition...select yes
    16. Instal zip.
    17. choose zip to apply from sd card
    18. select cyanogenmod 11 for example. cm-11-20140712-NIGHTLY-totoro.zip
    19. Install it
    20. if you are installed cyanogenmod 11, go back and choose reboot system now


    First boot will take 5 mins or longer

    In my last build were these bugs: video recorder not working
    video playback not working
    sim card not working - doesnt unlock it
    and google accounts not working

    I have synonymum problem. I install cm 11-totoro....812 and when my phone boot i must unlock simcard but when i get pin my simcard doesnt unlock ! And i have bugs in this rom, doesnt get account, video recorder dont working and video playback too.

    There are much bugs in this Rom


    1- Extremely lag and very slow process ya feel like ya work on 600 cpu not 800


    2- ya cant use your sim


    3- video recorder not working


    4- force close on some application


    5-when ya make root the matter becomes more bad

    My phone now not accept only your rom? what happened now I retry flash it again by ODIN the problem is stuck on Samsung logo ! I tried to flash another CWM but give me error mount data ,after that i try to repair The PIT file and Boot loader and the problem is continue stuck on ! what Im gonna do right now i need my phone and im not beginner this is 88 ones flash custom roms and this is the first time nothing works fine with me !

    Make sure you have the latest 6.0.5.3 recovery, go to mounts and storage, format cache, format system. Go back, advanced, reboot recovery. Now. install. If it still fails, it must be a problem with the zip. Get a newer nightly.

    First flash stock rom if your phone is bricked, install all ota updates of stock rom , install root and then flash cwm via odin https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bj3a19sdm5yre/totoro (file .tar.md5) put .tar file in odin to AP and click start, your phone will reboot to cwm recovery 6.0.5.3 and you now wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, and then install CM 11 package , then install gapps package and reboot system .
