» » [UPDATE] PureKat 3.0 for Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360

Great news for Android KitKat lovers! After the success of previous 1.xx and 2.xx versions of the PureKAT ROM, there is now a version 3.0 available with lots of stability, performance improvements and much more.


As already mentioned in the first post, the rom is based off AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and is being developed by san122 from xda-developers forums.

Changelog:

  • White themed UI
  • Fixed some bugs (Task manager button on recent apps)
  • Adaway script to block ads (Works fine with Baidu browser)
  • Added 4 tabs: Battery Bar, Lenox Label, Device Info, Double tap to sleep in SystemUI
  • Fixed a whitr line on white backgrounds
  • No tweaks included (You can try any CM tweaks with this rom)
  • PureKAT edition kernel by Nachiket.Namjoshi.
  • Added some more apps in Pure Preferences app.(A huge collection of good rom control apps)
  • Much more, explore by yourself

Instructions:

  1. Download rom zip file to your sdcard
  2. Boot into CWM Recovery
  3. Choose install zip from sdcard
  4. Now select choose zip from sdcard
  5. Locate the rom zip file and choose it
  6. Choose Yes to confirm when asked
  7. After installation is complete, go back and choose reboot system now
  8. If you get a SystemUI force close message after booting, it is recommended that you first flash this stock rom with Odin and then follow steps 1-7

    the file size of the zip file is 79 MB and i think its okay to install update 3 directly :)

    shouldnt the rom live up to its name? I mean its name is like a shortcut for pure kitkat if im not mistaken... but the system ui has lenox like thingys ~ Good work though :) i just wish theres a clean, complete, almost look the same, replica of android kitkat for our little y ^__^ sorry if my comment might be offensive for the dev.. its just my opinion

    If you are having problems, try to flash the stock rom from step 8 found in the instructions and then try flashing the rom again.

    i installed the pure rom 3.0 with kernel Cm ehich is alternative to percy cm#2 but after doing this i have no probem except i cant able to change my fonts ..the option there is bygone.. i am much apperciating your work but just please please tell the the guidelines to how can i chnge my fonts ..would i have to put some other kernels or some other clockmode recovery ..presently i am with clockmode recovery 5.0 with small yellow fonts ..i want to learn as i an newbie but yep technology updater freak ..if you can fix this please share me the linl of the kernel and cmw which can be embedded to feix this probelm of font chnaging ..else email me in jackieraj53@gmail.com..please kindly assist

    Flashed the firmware above, install the rom with and without wiping cache and dalvik,respectively.... And yet still stucked on PureKat logo. What I should do?

    1. flash stock firmware

    2. Boot into recovery mode.

    3. Under mounts and storage.

    - Format data,system and cache

    - Now mount system,data,cache.

    4. Flash rom zip. (PureKAT 3.0)

    5. Wipe data / factory reset.

    6. Wipe cache partition

    7. Reboot system now.
