The files you are about to download are rar files and are not flashable. Simply download the 2 pack files and extract them on your computer, you will get the image files and all you have to do after that is transfer them to your SD card and then set the desired image(s) as a wallpaper.

Many times after screwing with kernels and other tweaks I've managed to ruin my WiFi module thus making me unable to connect to wireless networks and it makes you wonder what has happened. 
 
Known symptoms: 
<ul>
<li>If in the MAC Address field it says "unavailable".</li>
<li>You try to turn WiFi on but you get error or it keeps turning itself off.</li>
</ul>
Usually the sign to figuring out whether you screwed up your WiFi or it's just the router is to take a look if you have a MAC Address displayed on your WiFi settings. If you don't, you've definitely killed your phone's WiFi ability but only software-side ofcourse. 
 
Now if that happens you may jump to the conclusion of flashing a stock rom with Odin or again switching kernels if you are not aware of the following procedure on solving the problem very easy. 
 
Instead of going through he hassle of flashing other roms or kernels, you can simply flash a zip file containing the WiFi module that will solve your problem immediately.

Now that you have downloaded the zip file depending on what you have on your Galaxy Young, we can get on with the fixing. 
 
Instructions:  
<ol>
<li>Boot into recovery mode, then flash CWM Recovery</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage then choose mount /system</li>
<li>Now go back, choose to install zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Locate and find the dhd zip file and choose it</li>
<li>Choose yes when asked</li>
<li>After installation, go back and reboot</li>

Extended Power Menu for Stock ROM

<a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4834620">sembre</a> from xda-developers has shared with us this modded power menu of the Samsung Galaxy Y. 
Usually when you hold the Power button you would see only 3 simple options: 
<ul>
<li>Silent mode</li>
<li>Flight mode</li>
<li>Power off</li>
</ul>
The extended power menu gives you a few more options such as toggling the Mobile Data on/off and also a 4 way reboot options. 
 
Please note that this is based off DXLL1 Baseband and DXMA1 Build number. Flashing this to your stock rom which uses different baseband and build number could lead to a bootloop or force-closes on various apps if your phone manages to start up. 
Do this at your own risk!

<li>Boot into recovery mode, then flash CWM Recovery (you should know how to do this)</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage</li>
<li>Choose /mount system (if you do not see it, it is already mounted in that case skip this step and follow step 5)</li>
<li>Choose format /system</li>
<li>After done, choose mount /system</li>
<li>Go back, wipe cache and data</li>
<li>Choose to install the zip</li>
<li>Find the rom zip file and choose Yes when asked</li>
<li>After done, reboot</li>
<li>Power off, boot back into recovery mode and flash the patch zip file</li>
<li>Reboot and enjoy </li>

Update for Galaxy S3 Launcher v1.2.1

Hello everyone it's been a while since the last post, the blog may kind of seemed dead for a week but the problem is not only in me, but it appears people are not releasing content frequently for the Galaxy Y like they used to before. 
 
This is an updated version of the WIP (work in progress) Galaxy S3 launcher ported from a chinese device for the Galaxy Y.

<a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4843361" target="_blank">SaM-RoM</a> from xda-developers forums claims he ported this off a Chinese device and judging from the people's replies, this seems to work decently on the Galaxy Y.

<li>You can add up-to 9 screen.</li>

<li>Wait a few minutes for the installation to be complete and for the phone to completely boot up</li>
<li>You may only see a status bar now, turn your phone off</li>
<li>Flash the update zip file in Recovery mode and reboot</li>

HELLO KITTY Themed Stock ROM (For the ladies)

So here is something unique I've come across this time. A stock DDLD5 based ROM themed with HELLO KITTY all over it. The developer <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4598454">lupin661</a> from xda-developers claims this is most suitable for girls. 
 
Basically this ROM doesn't have much special features and tweaks like the other custom ROMs, but this one is just themed a bit here and there to have a different look.

Instructions: 
<ol>
<li>Download the zip file and extract it (DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!) </li>
<li>In there you get a PDA, CSC and MODEM file aswell as Odin program itself</li>
<li>Now follow the <a href="http://www.galaxyyarchive.info/2012/08/flashing-stock-rom-with-odin.html" target="_blank">"Flashing Stock ROM with Odin guide</a>" if you are not familiar on how to flash PDA, CSC and MODEM files with Odin.</li>
<li>It's basically the same procedure as flashing a stock rom except here you use the provided PDA, MODEM and CSC files in the zip</li>
