Mario Kart running on Samsung Galaxy Y thanks to GameBoid Emulator

So I'm pretty sure most of you like me miss your childhood days where you used to play all these oldschool games on your old game systems such as the Nintendo. You should be familiar with the word Emulator. Such can be found a lot around the internet for your computer, but did you know that there are also a few for Android? Today in this video I am going to show you the emulator called GameBoid which will let you play Gameboy Advanced ROMs of games.

Now before we begin, let's download some stuff.

1. Download the GameBoid app, you can find it on the SlideMe market, link: http://slideme.org/application/gameboid

2. In order to play the games, we will need the BIOS, so download that aswell, put it somewhere in your SD card and extract the rar file using WinRAR to get a .bin file, link: http://www.emuparadise.me/biosfiles/gbabios.rar

3. Watch the video for the complete instructions:

Feel free to post any questions if you are having trouble setting this up.

    1. So when you install the app and run it for the first time,
it will ask you for the BIOS file, so you choose Browse and you find it where you transfered it on your SD card.
After you do that you will no longer need to browse the BIOS file, but it will take you to another browse screen where you need to locate ROMs, in my case I made a folder called "GameBoid ROMs" on my SD card where I will be storing my ROMs.
So each time you start the app it will load the folder you loaded from last time. then you just choose which game you want to start.

    1. Problem is that most HD games require to be bought and are not free.
I don't share anyone's work for free and that can even get me into trouble.

As for Chainfire 3D, there is a tutorial here from a long time which explains everything you need. The rest (finding those hd games) I leave up to the users.

  8. Cool. I loved it. I will install it tomorrow.

Thanks for running a specific blog for our model, often on the internet most people post stuff for galaxy ace but rarely for young.

  9. I've tried some games since and you should be aware that although games usually work well (without lag, etc) some of them are heavy and therefore sometimes the phone might get stuck.

For instance, playing Mario Tennis, gameboid tends to reset itself and playing FIFA 2004 the phone turned itself off. And Mario Kart is damn hard to control. Tekken Advance and Sonic Advance gave me no issues at all.

I don't know if rooted phones work better.

I think I'd settle to games provided by Play, I got tired of messing with my phone but I'd like to see a thorough list of (good) games that work without making the phone reboot or reset itself.

    1. I don't think a rooted phone can really solve anything as I also was stumbling upon such problems with GBA games. I guess there is only a specific amount of such games that are working with no problem. Today I finally restored my net and as promised I gotta post a 2nd pack with some decent playable games. :)
