Samsung Galaxy Y attempting to start in Download mode.

Today I went back to the stock ROM for a bit and decided to record it this time, and finally it ended up being a tutorial.

So before we begin, you need to download some stuff.
Here are the download links to Odin and Samsung Kies:
Odin v1.85: Click here.
Samsung Kies: Click here.

You can find the firmware packages here.
Choose a firmware depending on where you live (e.g. Europe, Asia, Philippines, etc).

Now that you have downloaded the required files, follow instructions in the video below:

      When you connect your phone with your laptop, do you get some kind of
      message like that it couldn't recognize the device or what?

    Hey ... i was installing cm9 in recovry ... installed...then i wiped data and caches but thenn after reboot it doesnt start....only blank screen ...no response i tried odin but it failed / no respond/ or stopped on setup connection plzzzz help me i beg... :(((

    You saved my phone as I was using Creed Rom (its a waste of battery because of many resources use) Now am back to original firmware and I appreciate a lot.
    Pls follow this nice video step by step, you can pause every 2 sec for better understanding.

    my laptop did not recognize my phone.. before this i use hyperion 7 and it stucks on welcome logo( samsung galaxy young GT S5360).. and i want flash my stock rom back... i already follow your step carefully... i tried it for many times.. but my laptop still did not recognize my phone.. what should i do??? plizzzzzz help meeee..... i hope that somebody can help me..... i want to use my sgy again.... i don't have any money to buy a new phone................ thaaannnkkk yoouuuuuuuu... :)

      Try reinstalling the drivers maybe that's one of the reasons.

      If you still can't get it to detect it after all that work, then I would suggest trying it with a desktop off a friend or relative. Remember, if you're gonna do it from a desktop then be sure to plug the USB cable to one of the ports on the back of the computer.

    first switch off ur mobile
    then, press vol down+home+power button altogether
    sure u will enter into Odin mode..
    then follow the above video.
    U will get your galaxy back

    Well you don't actually use Samsung Kies, I only mentioned it because it installs the needed USB drivers. PC Studio may have this aswell so yeah you could try.

    dude nothing happening my phone not recognizing i did all steps carefully one time i get it repaired from service center they said that that you also have phone hardware problem thats y this all happening any one can help what the actual problem and now when i try to install any rom like hyperion 7 with all steps its not installing,i was using custom rom from last 6 months but now no rom is installing,what the problem anyone here to give answer?

    Uninstall any Samsung related drivers from your computer, restart it.

    Then download and install this driver pack:

    Again after that restart your computer and retry to connect your phone with Odin. I would recommend to use an USB port from the back and not ones in the front.

    NOT CONNECTING......i did again all steps u said but its not connecting my phone charging socket is o.k taking charging,my phone is not hard brick bcz downloading mode is opening and i also tried with my 2 friends laptop but its not connecting in downloading mode it was only connecting in normal mode when phn was ok..dude true saying my phone got some hardware issue also,im nt new to rooting or flashing roms using them from last 6 months,but now no rom is installing i tried with hyperion 7 and with 8 also but no response,going to srvce centre and will stick to stock in future...

    Alternatively, just install Kies and it will install drivers.

    There are actually no specific country roms in most cases. For example, I don't see Bulgaria but I see Europe, and since Bulgaria is inside Europe that is the rom for me.

    Try to re-install the Samsung USB drivers. Search in Google "Samsung USB Drivers" and you should find a link to Samsung's website for the latest ones.
