[ROM] Nemesis One and Nemesis One HD for Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360)

Here it is, the long awaited Nemesis ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Young which a lot of people were waiting for. You won't find this released at xda-developers this time but only in their official page and fan sites.

Instructions: 
<ol>
<li>Boot into recovery mode then flash CWM recovery - <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?9835kooe7r2mtnf" target="_blank">Click here to download CWM</a></li>
<li>Wipe cache and data </li>
<li>Once in recovery mode, go to mounts and storage, and mount everything possible (sd-ext may give an error but ignore it)</li>
<li>Then finally go back, then go to install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard - Choose the nemesis zip file which you choose to download</li>
<li>Select yes when asked</li>
<li>Follow the AROMA installer, it should be as easy as installing software on your computer</li>
<li>Choose to install stock kernel.</li>
<li>After installation of it is complete, go back to CWM (first make sure that everything is mounted again) and then again, flash the nemesis zip file to get back to the installer</li>
<li>Now choose to install the Nemesis kernel. </li>
<li>After installing the kernel, you are back in CWM recovery, then go to mounts and storage and again be sure to mount everything, then flash the zip file for wifi drivers fix - <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?4pb8coles1l0ypm" target="_blank">Click here to download.</a> </li>
<li>After installation is complete, again make sure everything is mounted, flash the nemesis installer zip and then finally choose to install the nemesis rom (you may enable the reboot option once installer is finished)</li>
<li>After it is installed, your phone will reboot  </li>
<li>Enjoy the rom and please post some feedback in the comments for the rest to see</li>

If you keep getting stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Y logo, skip the Nemesis Kernel installing step and you should be fine.

In this post I am going to introduce you to a few simple tips and tricks which can come of great help. 
Most of the tips and tricks in this post are probably known by most of you but this post is more focused towards the newbies so please refrain from posting "I already knew this, this is an useless post", etc. 
 
1. Quickly access special characters 
When you open up the keyboard on the Galaxy Y while either chatting with someone on an IM client, typing a message or posting on a website with your browser, you can long-press for a few seconds on a particular letter and a popup will show allowing you to use special characters. 
e.g.: Long-pressing the A letter will give you special characters such as ä, Ä, etc. 
 
2. Dial contacts with a quick swipe 
Instead of tapping on the contact name and then tapping on the option to dial, you can simply swipe right with your finger on the contact's name and it will directly call him/her. By swiping left, you can quickly send a message to the contact. 
 
3. How to hide particular files from showing up in Gallery or Music Player 
Sometimes there are things that we do not want our friends or relatives seeing while they are using our phone. Most of the times a friend/relative would be interested to check your songs or what kind of content you have in your gallery. 
So instead of deleting the particular files or moving them to your computer all of the time, you can hide them in just a few seconds. 
All you need to do is create a folder called .nomedia wherever you want on your sdcard (you can do this from your phone by selecting Menu button -> Create Folder), then put the particular files on that folder and the files will not appear in media apps. 
You can also press the Menu key on your phone, then choose More -> go to Settings and untick the "Show hidden files" option if it is enabled. That way you will hide the .nomedia folder from the My Files app aswell. 
 
4. Search for songs/artists directly from Music Player 
While playing a song, on the top below the statusbar, tap where you see the artist/song name and a popup will show up asking you which particular part of the song to look for (e.g. The artist's name, the song's name or the album. 
After you make your choice, you will then be asked to search for it in either the internet, your music library or in the YouTube app. 
 
5. Voice actions 
Did you know that you can command your Galaxy Young with your voice? If you've got the Google Search widget on your homescreen, tap on the little microphone which you see in the widget and speak out your command. 
Example: Tap on the microphone and say "Send an e-mail". An e-mail popup will appear giving you the options to type in the recipent's e-mail, subject and message.

Some of you might remember a few months ago that we had a SMF forum running for the GYA blog where people were able to discuss, post questions about the Galaxy Y and it's development or just for killing time in the off-topic boards. 
About a month later it got shut down due to high inactivity, 5 active people posting wasn't worth it to pay the monthly costs for the hosting. 
So we are now going back to our first forum which was an embed Nabble forum. 
It won't be as professional as SMF but now its purpose will be to just post questions instead of going off-topic on specific posts on the blog, I get that a lot of times.

It was requested by some people a few times for me to release the icons which I'm using in the latest videos. They are the AOSP icons, the same which you would see in the CyanogenMod ROM. 
I found them lovely and decided to extract them and use them for my stock ROM and now I'm releasing the modded files for download. 
 
The 2 system files are from XXLH2 so before flashing I would advise to make a backup incase you end up in a bootloop resulting into losing your stuff.

A few days ago <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4651527">Haluki_BR</a> from xda-developers shared this app at the Galaxy Gio boards. It is said that this app saves some battery life of your phone by tweaking your mobile data while the phone's screen is off. This does not mean that your network is being turned off so that you won't be notified of calls, messages and all that, but it seems to in a way disable your packet data for you and probably does some other changes which atleast I'm not aware of. 
 
It is also claimed that this is "Samsung's official battery saver app" which I'm guessing most of you including myself never heard of so far. He claims he got it off a Samsung Galaxy S2.

<li>Download the zip and put it on your sdcard</li>
<li>Power off your phone and boot into recovery mode</li>
<li>Wipe data and cache</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage and choose mount /system</li>
<li>Go back and choose to install zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Choose the rom zip file, then choose Yes when asked</li>
<li>After installation is complete press the Power button to go back</li>
<li>Choose reboot system now</li>
<li>After the phone boots up, go to Settings -> Performance -> scrolling cache -> Force disable for color flickering.</li>
<li>Reboot.</li>

<li>Reboot the system and wait for the phone to start up, first boot may take a while as usual so be patient.</li>

Instructions: 
<ol>
<li>Flash any stock rom</li>
<li>Root your phone after that</li>
<li>Flash a kernel that supports CM7, e.g. white's kernel (1.0.1 or 1.3.3)</li>
<li>Boot into ClockworkMod recovery</li>
<li>Wipe data then cache</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage and be sure to select mount /system</li>
<li>Go back and choose to install zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Select the option choose zip from sdcard </li>
<li>Find the CyanJelly zip file and select it, then select yes</li>
<li>Wait till it is done installing</li>
<li>After installation is complete, press the Power button to go back and select reboot system now</li>
