Hi everyone. Today I took the time to make a video guide to show you how to reverse tether with the Galaxy Y using your USB cable. You do not need any wireless hardware on your computer, routers with antennas or anything like that because we won't be using a single bit of signals. I personally find this awesome to use, it really helps me update my Google Play apps and download other cool stuff from there which some are big in size and can suck up my phone's data plan.
Before we begin with the instructions, download the following tools:
PC Tool for Windows
USB Tunnel.apk
So after you have these 2 files on your computer all you need to do is watch the video guide below:

3. Do you have the packet data option enabled when trying to download from Play Store and such? Because that's what you need to have turned on in order to download.

ReplyDeleteHi Admin,
ReplyDeleteMy Windows App/Tool doesn't show my device connected.I am sure, that my device (Samsung Galaxy Y S5360) is rooted. and I did this process to check it. http://www.geekdashboard.com/how-to-check-if-phone-is-rooted-or-not/
Can you help me, I really want to use this feature.
Thanks,
Sunny
I would advise you to plug the phone to a USB hub on the back of
Deleteyour computer instead of the ones which are in front. Also you could try re-installing the Samsung USB drivers. If you currently have any installed, uninstall anything that has to do with them and then either look up on google the "samsung usb drivers" pack or install Samsung Kies again (it should install drivers along with it).
Then after that to verify that it recognizes your device, connect your Galaxy Y and go to Mass Storage.
Just a question, what version of Windows are you running?
Dear author, i have installed everything as per your steps mentioned in the video. Got my phone rooted, connection done displayed in computer. But with packet data off, i am not able to access/browse the internet with my internet connection on pc. please advise.
ReplyDeleteTry turning it on, it helps. Or atleast it does for when you want to
Deletedownload from Google Play. Even if your packet data is turned on, it won't use any of your MBs from your operator but from your computer.
downloading apps on the phone is not possible since the sd card is connected to the computer. So is there a solution for this ?
ReplyDeletei did all but when i click on connect then it displays that "no superuser right" and detailed report is as;
ReplyDelete-------------------------
W/D ------------------------------------------------------------
W/D Android Superuser may ask you to accept rights.
W/D Check your android and accept "Superuser Request" now if needed !!!
W/D If connection stop here and Superuser don't apears ,you phone or tablet is probably not rooted
