Samsung has again, announced another, let's say brother or sister to the Galaxy Y, called Galaxy Y Plus. The phone has been announced in March 2013 and is expected to be released this year at some point, I believe it should already be available in India. This Galaxy Y Plus will be a dual-sim device just like the Galaxy Y Duos. There's not much to say about this device other than a slightly increase if not, a huge increase in it's internal memory which should be 4GB and also 512MB RAM. The processor of the Galaxy Y Plus is also just a tiny bit more powerful than our Galaxy Young, it is stil a single-core processor of 850MHz. The camera is still the same, a 2MP camera The display size as you can see from the pictures will still be a TFT with a resolution of 240x320 and pixel density of around 143. The best part would probably be the fact that this device will be shipped to stores with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed with Samsung's TouchWiz look.

As most of you might already be aware, about 2-3 months ago Samsung Electronics announced a new Galaxy Young (S6310) to be coming out this year. It is now May and the phone is already available for purchase in some countries. 
The Samsung Galaxy Young S6310 has a very good looking design, pretty similar to it's old predecessor, the S5360 but slightly better. 
From what I know, there is only a white version available for now. In the box you get a charger, a data cable and of course, the handset itself. 
 
Introduction: 
The Samsung Galaxy Y S6310 has a lot of upgraded features such as an increase in internal memory, RAM, a slightly more powerful processor, a bit bigger resolution of 320x480 (176 pixel density), a 3MP camera, and the best part, comes with a pre-installed Android JellyBean 4.1 OS and many more. 
 
The Display: 
With a 3.27 inches LCD display consisting of 256K colors and a TFT capacitive touchscreen, and a resolution of 320x480 (176 ppi), you can definitely feel the difference in the quality. The homescreen, the letters, menus and everything else looks more clean and is very enjoyable to the human eye. 
 
The Processor: 
The Samsung Galaxy Y S6310 comes with a single-core 1GHz Cortex-A5 processor for enhancing the game experience for the users aswell as faster reactions when internet browsing and many more. The previous Galaxy Y had a ~832MHz single-core processor, that means the new Galaxy Young is with ~200MHz faster which should definitely give a noticable improvement in it's performance. 
 
The Android OS: 
Thanks to the 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM and it's 4GB internal memory, the new Galaxy Young is running the latest Android OS Jelly Bean 4.1 without any problems. Samsung as usual, has given it the beautiful user-friendly TouchWiz look. 
As you all may know, Android 4.1 compared to Gingerbread 2.3.6 which is what the old Galaxy Y is running, is far more rich in features. 
 
Camera: 
The new Galaxy Young comes with an upgraded camera which is a 3MP. Not much difference in the quality but still, it's slightly better. The camera is capable of taking pictures with a resolution of up to 2048x1536 pixels and videos at 24fps. 
 
Miscellaneous Features: 
As any other Android smartphone out there, the new Galaxy Young ofcourse still has all of the basic features included such as WiFi, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass sensors, support for audio file extensions such as MP3/WAV/eAAC+/FLAC and video extensions such as MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 and many many more features that are for everyday use.

Greetings, fellow Cyanogenmod fans! It's been a while since the last post regarding CyanogenMod7 has been posted here. In this post I am going to introduce you to <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4647521">PsychoGame</a>'s port of CyanogenMod7 for the Samsung Galaxy Young. 
From the looks of his xda thread, he sure knows what he is doing and his progress is actually going well. This release has Bluetooth partially working from what I read on his thread, I couldn't get the chance to test it personally though. If you want to, you can also read <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40799606#post40799606" target="_blank">this xda post</a> on how to be able to share files, I believe that actually fixes the whole Bluetooth issue but like I said, haven't tested anything personally. 
 
As for the performance, bugs and such on this rom, the only problem I could see was the screen flickering from time to time. Games such as Angry Birds and Pou managed to be playable without any force-closes (Pou used to force close on Madteam's CM7). 
 
So below I am going to list the working/not working features of the release I am about to share with you (Alpha 4):

Known bugs:  
Unfortunately the popular random screen flickering bug is still here, aswell as the camera showing a white screen even though it is able to take pictures, you can't preview them from the camera app.

So first of all, I would recommend that you safely download the CM7 zip file to your sdcard and then flash the kernel, because it is possible that after flashing the kernel, you will be stuck on yor GALAXY Y logo and won't be able to boot int your ROM to later paste it there. 
 
Installing the kernel: 
Step 1: 
Download Odin 1.85: <a href="http://androidfirmwares.net/Tools/Download/1" target="_blank">Click here.</a> 
Download the boot1.tar (PsychoGame's kernel) file to your computer. 
 
Step 2: 
Boot your Galaxy Y into Download mode by holding the Volume down + Home + Power/Lock button. 
Once you are there, press Volume up until you go to the screen where it says something like "Downloading" 
In the mean time, connect your Galaxy Y with your USB cable and start the Odin program. 
 
Step 3: 
Now it's time to setup Odin. Once you start it up, you should see in the ID:COM boxes a yellow box indicating that your phone is connected to a port. Please refer to the screenshot below:

Click on the PDA button and locate the boot1.tar file which you downloaded to your computer. Select it, and press Start in the Odin program. Wait for it to flash the kernel to your phone and in the end, the first box should become in green color saying PASS! or something of the sort. 
 
You have now succesfully installed the kernel and may unplug your phone. 
Now take off your battery, insert it back in and from here, follow the ROM installation guide below, I have made a video for it.

Minimalist S3 Launcher is being developed by <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4733329">xXx~~~SHLOK~~~xXx</a> from xda-developers forums. Instructions: 
<ol>
<li>Download zip to your sdcard</li>
<li>Boot into recovery mode, flash CWM if you don't have it integrated</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage, just make sure /system is mounted</li>
<li>Go back, choose to install zip from sdcard, select choose zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Find the Mini S3.zip file and choose it, choose Yes when asked</li>
<li>After installation is complete, go back, choose reboot system now</li>
