Yes the dreams have finally come true to see the Galaxy Young with Android 4.1 but unfortunately this is not a software upgrade, but a phone upgrade.
You would need to purchase the improved Galaxy model in order to have this.

When will this come out in the markets? I don't know. It is known that there will be 2 new Galaxy models. One being Galaxy Young, the other Galaxy Fame.

Known expected specs for the Galaxy Young:
  • 320x480 screen resolution - LCD
  • 1GHZ single-core processor
  • 4GB internal memory
  • 768MB RAM
  • 3MP camera with video recording at 24fps
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 1,300 mAh battery
Galaxy Fame specs, pretty much the same like the Galaxy Young but:
  • Bigger (3.5 inch) display
  • 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash.
  • 512MB RAM
  • optional NFC
Oh and both devices should be dual-sim.

And ofcourse, the blog will support the new Galaxy Young model by posting available custom ROMs and kernels.

UPDATE:
I have no confirmation but I have found out that the GPU of the new Galaxy Young will be Adreno 200 GPU.
The full name of the new Galaxy Young appears to be Samsung Galaxy Young S6310.

    WoW...THE NEW GALAXY YOUNG IS THE BEST...IT HAS 767 RAM...AND HAS4GB INTERNAL MEMORY...I WILL BUY THIS PHONE WHEN IT RELEASE...BTW...THANKS FOR THE NEWS UPDATE...MORE POWER TO YOUR TEAM :)

    Yes that will help GYA blog remain online for a longer time because there will be new development for the new Galaxy Young. :)

    Will just need to figure out till then a way to seperate these 2 models.
