So I'm pretty sure most of you are aware with the Google Edition phones being out for a while now, and some of you might have liked to have their boot animations on your Galaxy Y.

Well you can now have them, thanks to CharsiBabu from xda-developers forums who has ported them to work with the Galaxy Y. He claims that he used youdug's release from the HTC Evo 4G boards.

Instructions:

  1. Pick your desired boot animation style and download it to your sdcard.
  2. If you're on a stock rom then first flash this in order to be able to use it.
  3. As you have the zip file on your sdcard, move it with a root browsing tool to /system/media/
  4. Be sure to set the file's permission to rw-r--r--
  5. Reboot and enjoy.
