Hey guys! Today I will show you all how to install
cyanogenmod 11 on Galaxy Y.</div>

So for all those who are not familiar with cyanogenmod based
roms cyanogenmod is an open source operating system for smartphones . It is
developed as free and open source based on the official android released by
google.</div>

Requirements:- 
 
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>A Galaxy Y with stock rom</li>
<li>CWM Recovery download it from <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/vWsAwiM8ba/CWM_Recovery_.html?" style="text-indent: -18pt;" target="_blank">here</a></li>
<li>Kernel to be downloaded from <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/Cm0u00heba/Kernel_Bangprovn1.html?" style="text-indent: -18pt;" target="_blank">here</a></li>
<li>And finally Cyanogenmod 11 from <a href="http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/totoro/" target="_blank">here</a></li>

Installation Instructions:-</div>

<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Power off your galaxy Y and wait till it
vibrates.</li>
<li>After it vibrates boot it in the recovery mode
by pressing the three button combination (volume up + home + power button)</li>
<li>Then go to apply update from sd card and then
choose CWM Recovery.zip</li>
<li>Now to select install zip from sd card>choose
zip from sd card>kernel Bangprovn#1.zip</li>
<li>Wait till the installation completes and then go
to advanced and then select reboot recovery.</li>
<li>Now it would boot in CWM Recovery v6.0.49 and
would show a number of errors. No need to worry</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage and format system, data
and cache</li>
<li>Now mount all partitions (system, data, cache,
storage/sd card and sd-ext)</li>
<li>Press the back button and select install
zip>choose zip from storage/sd card</li>
<li>Choose cm-11-20140719-unofficial-totoro.zip</li>
<li>Wait till the installation completes and then
select reboot system.</li>
<li>The first boot will take time to complete</li>
<li>Finally you have Kitkat Android 4.4.4 on your
Galaxy Y.</li>

   Most of the bugs in this rom have been fixed except some lags, video recorder and panorama mode

Kitkat Cyanocream v4 for Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360

Hey guys 
 
As we all know that android 4.4 has not been released for our galaxy y and sadly will never be.. So presenting Cyanocream V4 a cyanogenmod based rom with a Kitkat flavour for our device. This is a fast and a stable rom. 
 
Requirements:- 
 
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>A rooted Galaxy Y with a <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800" target="_blank">stock rom </a></li>
<li>CWM download it from <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/vWsAwiM8ba/CWM_Recovery_.html?" target="_blank">here</a></li>
<li>Cyanocream v4 from <a href="http://d-h.st/2so" target="_blank">here</a></li>
<li>Cyanocream v4.1 from <a href="http://d-h.st/2w5" target="_blank">here</a> (update only)</li>
<li>Cyanocream v4.2 from <a href="http://d-h.st/ric" target="_blank">here</a> (update only)</li>

Installation instructions:-</div>
<div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Turn off your phone and wait till it vibrates</li>
<li>After it vibrates press the three button combo (volume up+home+power button)</li>
<li>Then use the volume up/down keys and select apply update from sd card and select CWM Recovery.zip</li>
<li>Now go to mounts and storage and mount all partitions except the sd-ext because it is not possible on the stock kernel of galaxy y</li>
<li>Then go to apply update from sd card and then choose zip from sd card</li>
<li>After that select Cyanocream v4.zip</li>
<li>Aroma Installer will start after a few seconds</li>
<li>Choose a theme of your choice</li>
<li>Then keep pressing next in the instructions</li>
<li>After that select installation of stock kernel</li>
<li>Do  not select reboot after installation</li>
<li>Now select install</li>
<li>After the installation of the stock kernel is complete go to advanced and select reboot recovery</li>
<li>After that the phone would boot again the stock recovery (the red one)</li>
<li>Again select apply update from sd card and then select CWM Recovery.zip</li>
<li>Now select apply update from sd card, choose zip from sd card and then select Cyanocream v4.zip</li>
<li>This time select installation of White XP 1.3.3 and DO NOT select reboot after installation.</li>
<li>Again go to advanced and then select reboot recovery</li>
<li>Now again select Cyanocream v4.zip from sd card</li>
<li>This time choose the installation of Cyanocream Rom and select reboot after installation</li>
<li>The installation will take some time to complete</li>
<li>Now the device will reboot on its own.</li>
<li>The first boot will take time (4-5 minutes) and it might even show the boot animation 2 times so dont think that it is stuck in a bootloop</li>
<li>Finally you have installed Cyanocream v4 on your galaxy y</li>

Installation: 
<ol>
<li>Download the zip file to your sdcard</li>
<li>Boot into CWM Recovery</li>
<li>Go to mounts and storage - make sure everything is mounted</li>
<li>Go back, head into advanced and wipe dalvik cache, then wipe battery stats (optional)</li>
<li>Go back, wipe data/cache </li>
<li>Choose to install zip from sdcard</li>
<li>Locate the Hyperion 8 zip file and choose it, choose Yes to confirm</li>
<li>Once the rom is installed, again choose zip from sdcard and this time flash the RIL Fix zip file</li>
<li>Once flashed, go back and choose reboot system now</li>

Great news! CyanogenMod9.1 for the Galaxy Y is now stable than ever. The last build that was posted here was the BETA 2 but now there is a BETA 4 available and I am guessing there is really no need to mention or post anything about BETA 3 since it is now considered an old build.

Great news for those of you who are impatient! The team have released the BETA 2 build for download so that you can test the current in development CyanogenMod9.1 rom on your Galaxy Y.
